We are excited to bring you an update on what God is doing through our ministry in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. But first, let me introduce ourselves and our calling in case you have not met us. We are Steve & Laura Pratt, Missionary Church Planters sent out of Bible Baptist Church Wilmington, OH (Pastor Josh Dixon) to Calgary, AB, Canada.

So often, Canada is thought of as a Christian nation because it is a first-world country whose citizens are generally known for being polite. However, over the years, Canadians have become hard-hearted and stiff-necked to the things of God. As a result, their depravity has darkened the country and sadly, nearly 95% of the population is without Christ, putting the country in desperate need of the gospel.

Our arrival to Calgary, filled with faith and countless prayers, started on June 19, 2023. Along the way, we witnessed God’s divine guidance at every turn, including a miraculous border-crossing experience. We now find ourselves settled and starting the church in a bustling community in Southwest Calgary—a place clearly directed by God, with no other church within miles and ripe for gospel sharing.

We started FaithWay Bible Baptist Church, our first-ever church plant in Calgary in July 2023—one month after moving to Calgary. We have a four-phase church planting approach that is centered around the gospel, with a strong emphasis on soul-winning and discipleship. Currently, we are laying the foundation for the church by establishing Small Group Bible Studies out of our home. Additionally, we will be establishing several One-on-One Bible Studies throughout the Southwest side of Calgary. We are excited to share that after one month of starting FaithWay BBC, we have already seen fruit from our ministries as people get saved! Praise the Lord!
