We are the Paiz Family, BBFI career missionaries to Costa Rica. We are sent out by Temple Baptist Church in Springdale, AR, where our pastor is Keith Buttram. It is our family’s desire to move to Costa Rica, learn the language and culture, and plant indigenous churches throughout the country.
Although Costa Rica is labeled a Christian nation, only 13% of the population is classified as evangelical Christian. The vast majority of the nation holds to a works-based faith, living their lives without truly knowing where they will spend eternity. They seek to earn righteousness through works, without understanding the true gospel of Jesus Christ: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:8-10)
Our family has been on full-time deputation since August 2023, and by God’s grace, we have been blessed on this journey. It has been truly amazing to have churches come alongside our family both financially and prayerfully. During our deputation, one of our greatest joys has been the opportunity to encourage churches in missions. We are excited that God is using our family to reach the people of Costa Rica.
