Matt and Ericka Moeller have served as church planting missionaries to Scotland since 2011.

Matt was born in South Africa to BBFI missionaries Rick and Cheri Moeller, and Ericka grew up in Arkansas. Scotland has a rich Christian heritage, but over the last century has drifted far from those roots and is now one of the most secular nations in Europe. Churches across the country are closing their doors at an alarming rate, leaving many cities and villages without a Gospel witness.

Matt, Ericka, Ellee, and Graycee are so grateful that the Lord has called them to be part of meeting that need. After serving at a church in Scotland that acted as our government-required sponsor into the country, we were able to obtain “leave to remain” (the UK’s equivalent of permanent residency). During that season, we learned so much about ministering here, and had the joy of seeing souls saved and baptized. With that process now complete, the Lord has opened the door for us to move to Cove Bay, a suburb of Aberdeen — Scotland’s third largest city — where we are now planting a new church.

Our strategy is simple: preach, teach, and make disciples through the local church. As the Lord raises up leaders from within this work, our hope is to repeat that process elsewhere in Scotland, as long as He allows.
