We are Lu and Lek May, missionaries to the Communist country of Laos. Our sending church is Friendship Baptist Church in Wichita, KS. Lu is Vietnamese, born in Laos. He was saved through the bus ministry at Friendship Baptist Church and retired from US Army Reserves after 20 years of service. Lek is second generation Chinese, born in Thailand. She was saved through the ministry of missionary Ricky Salmon at Bangjak Baptist Church in Bangkok. Ever since being saved, Lek has a desire to be a missionary.
We believe God has uniquely prepared both of us through our life experiences for this mission field of Laos. As a forgotten country wedged between Thailand and Vietnam, Laos is a Buddhist-Animistic country where 85% are unreached, meaning these people groups do not have access to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our mission is to see believers saved, baptized, and discipled. Since Laos is a creative access nation, we will use teaching English at an English Language Center as a platform to minister in Laos. We will plant local independent Baptist house churches through having Bible studies in our home and training national leaders to continue the multiplication process.
Lek recently recovered from surgery in April. We will resume deputation in mid-July and our goal is to be in Laos by the spring of 2023.
